Parenting Coordination

Continuous
conflict hurts everyone involved, including your children. In cases of divorce
or paternity, a parenting coordinator is a neutral party who facilitates
communication between parents and assists in resolving disputes regarding high
conflict parenting issues. This process empowers parents to make decisions for
their children without the time, expense, and frustration of repeated trips to
court or continued conflict.
In some cases, the parenting coordinator may be authorized by the court to make
binding recommendations, in the best interest of the child, in the event that
the parties cannot come to an agreement. The parenting coordinator however, may
not change the order of the court, and all recommendations may be appealed by
either party.
The parenting coordinator will aid co-parents in focusing on the best interest
of the children, improving communication skills, understanding child
development, and learning effective problem solving strategies, so that the
parenting coordinator will no longer be needed.
