Parenting Coordination FAQ

Who determines if Parenting Coordination is necessary?

Either party's lawyer may appeal the court to have a PC appointed to the case. The judge may also make the determination to add parenting coordination to the court order without an appeal. If either party is interested in parenting coordination, he or she may request that his or her lawyer write an appeal to appoint a PC. If both parties are in agreement, Brooke Randolph is willing to discuss level I parenting coordination without a court order; however the right to request an official appointment by the court is reserved.

Parenting Coordination FAQWhat does Parenting Coordination cost?

The fees of the Parenting Coordinator are split between both parties, rather than each party paying for his or her own attorney. Gregory Lane Legal Services offers a sliding fee scale to make Parenting Coordination more widely available to the community. This fee scale is based on combined annual income and number of dependents. In certain cases, a payment plan can also be arranged. For more specific information regarding cost, please contact Brooke Randolph.

Is Parenting Coordination available in languages other than English?

Gregory Lane Legal Services offers bilingual services to make Parenting Coordination more widely available to the community. Brooke Randolph is competent in Spanish but is not bilingual; however, translators for Spanish and other languages are available at your request.

What types of issues can be addressed in Parenting Coordination?

Interpretation and scheduling of court-ordered parenting time (including holiday's, summer plans, and minor adjustment or temporary changes to the schedule); transportation and exchange of children, clothing, and other essentials; education; extracurricular activities; religious training and observation; roles of and contact with parent's significant others and extended family; discipline; communication between parents and children; communication between parents about the children; child's appearance; child's physical and mental health care; and child care are all issues that are often addressed in Parenting coordination.

What can a PC not do?
